Love this!

I love this product! I have some grays and it covers them making them a beautiful bright rich red along with my natural mousey light brown hair that it turns a deep red. I love the conditioning it provides my hair, I have very curly coarse hair and it is a breeze to rinse out and it doesn't leave my hair tangled at all like other plain powder hennas. It doesn't fade at all for me I only apply more when my hair grows out and new grays start to show. I use it about every 4 weeks but would definitely use it more frequently if it was cheaper.

Over the years I have had almost every hair color imaginable. Because of this I have really damaged my hair from all the harsh chemicals. A friend introduced me to Lush in-store and I fell in love. While there I found the Henna Hair dye; I was super excited but very apprehensive as to how it would work. Long Story Short -- Its the ONLY hair dye I use anymore! It makes my hair feel amazing and doesn't damage my hair. I have been using this for almost 2 years now! I did notice that when my hair was lighter there was more of a difference in color - either way I am giving my hair the love it deserves by using the Henna Hair Dye. THANKS LUSH :)

My hair is currently a light redish blonde. I used the Rouge and it didnt change my hair color at ALL! I did everything exactly by the instructions. I'm super disappointed with this product.

This is a great product, as of right now I have bought two of the bars, I have long puffy hair and I only use a third of the bar each time, I have naturally dark brown hair so it just gives me a bit of a red tint, which is really pretty when the light hits it. I have noticed great improvement in the quality of my hair since I started using henna. My hair is softer, and feels moisturized without being heavy, it's helped cut down on my frizz (my hair is naturally curly, therefore a frizz bucket) I don't have any split ends which is crazy.. I used to bleach and dye my hair a lot and the difference between this and that is extremely noticable. I probably won't dye my hair normally ever again. I absolutely love the way my hair feels, and looks after using the rouge bar.

Beautiful natural color if used in MODERATION

After watching copious YouTube reviews I decided to use this product after being unsatisfied with a gloss treatment. I have naturally dirty blonde hair with red tones, and wanted to push into a natural looking- yet vibrant red (without going orange). I have long hair (down to breasts) at medium thicknesses (can wrap index and thumb around a ponytail / braid). I used one third of the block to dye my hair and let it sit for 3.5 hours, and am extremely happy with the results. The color feels very rich and dramatic without looking dyed. I took the precautions outlined by other reviewers (laying paper over surfaces, Vaseline on hairline, wearing old tshirt) but honestly did not find the process THAT messy— maybe its just because I took extra care during application due to other comments warning about messiness. Left my hair smelling fantastic as opposed to the harsh chemical smell after getting gloss treatment done.

Great Product

I personally think this is a great product...as long as you have done your research and understand what henna is like as a dye. It's messed. Yes but so are most hair dyes. If you are intentional about doing your hair the mess isn't too bad. A little cleanup but nothing that is absurd. The other thing to know is this really is a permanent dye. Don't do it on a whim because this dye doesn't come out! Which is great! But if you are looking for a temporary color this product is not for you! The dye pickups on your natural highlights and overall looks great!

Not happy at all

Atlanta | 3 months ago

First let me say that I received the WRONG color... I ordered Rouge and was sent Brun... I called and got a Rouge replacement sent to me.... so when I finally used it I followed ALL instructions and watched tons of YouTube vids to make sure I used it correctly. I used Henna Color Lab henna years ago and will be using it again since Lush failed me. ........... about the application... Caca Rouge is extremely overpriced for the amount of product you get and the end result. The preparation is extremely messy and time consuming. Applying it was an absolute nightmare... the entire brick was not enough for my hair which is about 2 inches past shoulder length. This product is about 80% cocoa butter and melts everywhere while processing! Very weak henna concentration. Washing it out was honestly not an issue at all. The smell is amazing, like incense. The color is weak and not vibrant like other hennas... the color DOES fade with every wash even using sulfate free shampoo... it fades due to the fact that Caca is mostly cocoa butter so the henna does not adhere to the hair correctly. Save your money and check out henna color lab. Also the hand cream samples I got are loaded with parabens, yuck!!!!

I've been using this henna from Lush for over 7 years & I stand by the results. I personally use it as an alternative to covering my grays. I've dark brown hair, so this henna compliments as sort of a highlight. I like the Shea that's added to the henna. It's a little more work than most hair colors, but well worth it. If it helps, try using a cheese grater to break it down, it will melt a lot faster. I also have a potato peeler designated to shave of the exact amount I need for touch ups. That's always helped me to not wasting my henna. R & B is also a good hair conditioning product to use with the henna as well. Thanks Lush for keeping this in your product line-up. Greatly appreciated.

$30 and a mess for this color? SIGN ME UP

Okay, yes. This process leaves a massive mess in its wake but the outcome is such a gorgeous color... so it's hard to turn it down. I had someone help me apply the color and getting the right consistency took some time. Next, we had a huge mess all over the kitchen floor, our clothes and let's talk about my hair. It felt warm and like someone was applying cement to my hair. We wrapped it with two bags to seal the heat, and I put a winter hat over those for three hours. While waiting, I was second guessing and almost scared that it wouldn't turn out right at all. But... after shampooing my hair 10 times, conditioning 4 and combing/brushing for twenty minutes, it produced the most gorgeous red that I've always wanted. I highly recommend this product. It's messy, fun, kind of scary, and worth it.

I've contemplated trying this out for a while now, having used other brands of henna in the past and hearing such great things about LUSH products I thought I'd give the CaCa Rouge henna a try. I made sure to break it down melt it completely and painstaking coat every section of my har thoroughly. I waited the full 4 hours like the package suggested with my hair wrapped in cling wrap for a deeper color. when it came time to see the results I was SO UNBELIEVABLY DISSAPOINTED! I seriously want to bawl my eyes out. my hair is closer to a kool-aid orange than the lovely natural red I am accustomed to from using henna in the past. Not only is this MORE EXPENSIVE than other brands it doesn't give the same deep copper-red as other brands.
