Perfect for Coarse/4C Hair

I am LOVING this shampoo bar. I've been using it for months now and it's amazing. Granted, since I'm black, I don't wash my hair nearly as often as a lot of these reviewers. One bar has lasted me what seems like forever. I immediately cut my bar into smaller blocks, and use each section down to the red rind/wrap. It lathers just enough, the smell is wonderful, and it leaves my hair and scalp clean (I feel it and it looks like it)!

I loved the idea of this shampoo/conditioner bar, so I ordered it. It does smell nice, but that's about all the nice things I can say about it. It is somewhat soft and smooshy, so it's hard to work with. It also doesn't lather at all. So I never knew if I was using enough, or even where it was in my hair. I really disliked the weird red rind on each end, and I have no idea what it's for Save your money and buy one of their other, much more amazing, shampoo bars.

Love this!

I absolutely love this co wash! Made my short straight hair feel so soft and shiny. The smell is fantastic also.

Smells good - Doesn't work for me

I've decided to come back and try shampoo bars after Godiva was discontinued (my favorite). What happened there? Anyway- This smells good (citrus-y) but either I don't have the patience for a good lather, or it just doesn't clean my hair that well. I'm on my second try using it and it feels greasy/hard to style/dry. I'm not a huge fan of the red plastic rind, either. I just ordered Posh ( new ) as a replacement, hoping that this is better for me and might just be the Godiva replacement I'm looking for. GodivaGodivaGodiva

I never write reviews but this bar is the WORST

I'm not sure how this got through Lush's design team. It's too soft to get out of the tin, so you have to scoop out a pinch. You can't get the pinch to rub through your hair so you end up with globs of co-wash in your hair. If you try to rub the pinch between your palms to create a spreadable consistency, it doesn't melt. The product doesn't foam as shown in the video. Since it doesn't melt into a lather or a cream, you can't tell if you are disbursing it evenly - or at all. You don't even get a sensation you are washing your hair with anything but water. Ultimately, the result is as bad as if you are just washing with water. Hair is neither clean, nor detangled. Lush - dump this product. It's tainting your reputation

I am disappointed.

Does not lather nor rinse out well. My hair feels unwashed and greasy.

This is not a co-wash!!

There are so many known drying ingredients and harsh oil strippers in this shampoo bar! I'm really disappointed in lush for using such harsh detergents in their products, especially in a bar they market as a "co-wash"

smells amazing, but tricky to get the hang of

i have oily, curly, fine hair (3c texture), for background. from reading the description of the product, and my interaction in the store, i thought that just washing my scalp would be enough. however, after three or so weeks of upswing the product, my hair felt like stringy, oily spaghetti. turns out you have to actually wash the entire strand of hair, at least in my case. now that i'm doing that, it's absolutely wonderful and my hair feels so soft and i can go back to wearing it down again. and the smell is still absolutely amazing. i'm just hoping it lasts me a while TL;DR if your hair is super greasy while use ing, wash the whole length of your hair and not just your scalp.

Not for fine hair!

I have curly, medium fine hair — it gets easily weighed down by heavy products. I started cowashing a couple of years ago, and thought I would give this a try. The first day I used it, my hair was so so soft. But the third or fourth use (I wash my hair every two or three days) my hair was an oily, lifeless mess. While this stuff smells amazinggggg (oh my god) it definitely isn't for regular use if you have fine hair. It's just way too rich and way too heavy! I would absolutely recommend it as an occasional leave in mask, though! It's definitely moisturizing, and I didn't mind the application at all. I'm going to try the happy happy joy joy or veganese conditioner for cowashing, since they're for finer hair.

I really wanted to love this...

I wanted to love this because it *does* work, but the application is a nightmare and the sole reason I won't purchase again. I have thin, fine, curly hair. I need something to wash my scalp between clarifying shampoo days. I need something moisturizing in the winter months. This co-wash cleaned/refreshed my scalp between shampoo days very well without drying me out. It smells nice and my scalp felt nice after using it. HOWEVER actually getting the product onto my scalp is next to impossible. I rub the bar between my hands under hot water to get a lather (which I know would be minimal because it's a cowash) but I literally get nothing. I have to spend 5 minutes just to get enough of the product off the bar and onto my hands so I can sift it through my roots and onto my scalp. Not to mention the stupid af "babybel" wax they put on it breaks off in little bits that get stuck to my shower walls and tub and are now impossible to clean off without waxy sticky residue remaining. Dear god why do you put wax on this bar!? It's unfortunate because the product itself (when I can get it on my scalp) works very nicely. It's just not worth the mess, extra, time, or trouble to apply this to ever repurchase. If you could make this liquid instead of a solid I'd be all over that.
