Still finding red wax everywhere

Redlands, CA | 1 day ago

This product was one of the only stinkers I've gotten from Lush, unfortunately. It smells incredible, so they definitely got that right as usual. But every way I tried to use it, it felt useless. I would rub a bit off with water running in the shower and try to lather it through, and it would lay on my hair, not doing much of anything. I tried rubbing it onto my hair as advertised, and it left so many chunks of both the bar and the red wax in my hair. Very unpleasant. As the product dissolves, it leaves behind a crumpling red wax material behind to clog up your drain and get stuck on the tub. God forbid you step on the wax and rub it into the tub, you'll then struggle to scrape wax off the tub. Really don't understand the purpose of the wax at all. I used this for months to write a fair review. I have resorted to using it as a body wash because all my other ones are out and this smells decent enough. But for a co-wash? Oh Lord, never again. I was on the look out for a natural co-wash for my multicultural curly hair but this ain't it, chief.

Love it - but needs to be as pictured!

Nashville, TN | 2 days ago

I've gotten this several times as it's the best co-wash I've found, but if the bar was as big as the picture, it would be even better. As it is, it doesn't take long to be too small and thin and then it's useless.

Smells great but otherwise a miss

San Francisco, CA | 2 days ago

I agree with some of the other reviews about the wax being sticky/ product arriving slightly out of shape and mushy from shipping. I love the smell but overall this just doesn't work well for my curls. I also feel like it's not as great of value compared to the other shampoo and conditioner bars. I've now flattened this down and pull off a little to try to make it easier to use, but I don't feel like it's worth the hassle.

Heat warning

This shampoo bar did not come in the best of shape. Since I live in a hot place and waited for the shipment to come, I still had to put this in the fridge to harden back up again( my suggestion, if you can, order online and pick up in store). I honestly thought for the price of this product, it was gone to last me at least a month or two 🙄. That obviously didn't happen. I was also shipped a SLIVER of this bar compared to what was advertised, no joke. With that being said, size was already a problem but then I also wish it was as hard as an actual soap bar, and it wasn't. It did not hold it's shape which I believe was part of why it didn't last very long at all. I was hoping it did because I don't shampoo my hair every single day and I have been curly hair. Aside from all that, the smell was great and it lingers on your hair if this is the ONLY product your going to use. It also does a little bit of detailing, nothing crazy. I would of given this product five stars if: it kept it's shape, the bar was a lot bigger ( come on lush, were in a recession, have some heart), it lasted well over a month, the price was a lot cheaper for the size they send.

Ummmm NO.

Portland, Oregon | 8 days ago

This product is very hard to use. At first, I thought I wasn't getting enough product out of it just by rubbing it repeatedly at my scalp, for my hair was super greasy the next day. Then I started taking chunks out and washing my hair like that, hair still super greasy. I have been trying to get this product to work with my hair for a month now and the only positive thing about it is the smell. I will give them that, it does taste so good you want to eat it. But yeah, greasy hair forever.

Difficult to Use But Feels Great Afterwards

Bakersfield, CA | 10 days ago

Avocado Co-Wash leaves my hair feeling so smooth after use and I don't even have to follow up with conditioner. The only thing, is that it's difficult to move throughout my hair to get it to rub in. Sometimes, I feel there's almost no product in my hair so I'm standing there even longer trying to get it into my hair. But again, after the struggle, my hair is very soft

So good for curly hair

BC | 13 days ago

I love this 2-in-1 bar. I have 3c curls, when I use Avocado Co-Wash I don't have to use styling products after to prevent frizz. If the pink wax is to slow oxidation they should switch to some other coating, like seaweed gel, cactus gel, rice paper, or corn/potato starch paper. At least those dissolve in water and won't leave pink smudges everywhere.

if you use it right, it's great!

Atlanta | 14 days ago

I really love this co-wash, on week 2 of use without shampoo or conditioner, and my hair is shiny and wavy/full bodied, without residue. I read through a lot of the reviews and they complained about no suds, no lather - this isn't supposed to suds! That's the point - it isn't a soap-based product, which takes healthy oils from your head (as well as other thigns you want to get rid of). If you use this correctly - really massage it into your scalp and hair and wash it out thoroughly, you'll have rich-feeling hair once it dries!

A Great Conditioner

Ottawa | 20 days ago

I have fine 2a blonde hair and I tried using this as a co-wash. As suspected, a co-wash isn't really a thing for my hair type. I scrubbed it in for a good ten minutes on day 2, but it just increased the greasiness of my hair instead of cleaning it. However, this works great as a conditioner. I super love using it every other day after I wash with the Seanik bar. To lather, I rub the soap against both of my palms separately to build up a decent layer and then run it through my hair. Sometimes it takes a repeat, with the goal of being able to run my finger through easily. And yes, as all say here please remove the wax. I think the wax just helps the soft inner bar stay solid for transportation.

Take off the red casing

Waterford, Michigan | 20 days ago

I love shampoo bars so wanted to try this one. The piece I got had the red casing on 3 sides sticking out pretty far. It didn't lather and the red stuff pulled my hair out. I got super frustrated and yanked the red stuff off. The green part by itself is decent. Smells great but no lather
