Plump up the volume

Self Preserving
Banish oil and boost shine with this scrubby sea salt shampoo bar. We've loaded this low-waste wonder with naturally cleansing lemon oil to cut grease, Roman chamomile oil to soothe scalps and hand-harvested coarse sea salt to add vivacious volume to lackluster locks. A little fair trade organic cocoa butter rounds things out to keep everything smooth. So don't be shy: turn the volume on high and shine on.

Crumbly, half the product goes down drain

Charlotte, NC | 2 days ago

This shampoo does fine for my hair (seanik is better), but the real issue is how it's uses. The sea salt on top makes it harder to lather in your hands and crumbles off anyway. It's purely aesthetic and makes usage harder. The bar also seems soft, and breaks easy with use. It doesn't break clean, and you end up with a lot of little pieces. If you throw these away, you'll end up throwing away most your product. Trying to use them is difficult, and much of it goes down the drain anyway. Hair wise it does fine. Cleans pretty well, but isn't particularly great for volume or oil control.

SUPER messy

Montreal | 7 days ago

I've tried almost every other Lush shampoo bar and this is the only bar that is super messy to use. The results were great, the smell is great, but the bar melts after one use and leaves residue everywhere and never dries back up again. Would not buy again just because its hard to use :/

Makes my hair voluminous and so soft!

I love this shampoo, gives me beach hair even when I'm landlocked!

I Like It

I use this alternating with New shampoo bar which is more stripping IMO. Flyway doesn't lather quite as well as it seems to have a higher oil content, perhaps. It does tame the frizz a bit. Not totally magical. It's all about the conditioner for me anyway. But I have hair that gets oily after a few days so wash it frequently. It definitely doesn't make my hair dry, but does seem to bodify my fine, wavy, medium thickness hair. The smell is a much more subtle version of Big. Soft vanilla. I haven't been bothered by the salt on top. I think it's just for decor and dissolves pretty much after wetting it once or twice.

Wanted to love this

I really liked the smell, even though it is a bit more subtle than some of the other bars. However, I have a couple issues with this shampoo bar. First, the salt on top came off and would just get stuck in my hair when I rubbed it on my head like I do with others. So I resorted to lathering in my hands but I found the salt quite sharp, so scraped it off. My second issue was mostly that it didn't feel like it I was getting as much product off the bar. I washed as I normally would and my hair was visibly still oily after my hair dried (I do have quite an oily scalp). I basically had to wash my hair twice with this bar to get the results I normally would with one wash. I would definitely not recommend this to fellow oily scalp people but it sounds like it might work better for someone who produces an average or lower amount of oil.

The bar is really cute and smells fantastic, but that's kind of where the positives end for me. My hair can be quite frizzy, so I was excited to try this out. Somehow, it makes my hair frizzier. Before my hair even dries, it begins to feel like straw. It does clean well and keeps the grease away. But it is not worth it for how blah my hair feels and looks after. Even pairing it with a deep conditioner doesn't help too much. And with other LUSH shampoo bars, I don't have to use conditioner at all! Very disappointed in this bar.

Won't buy again, but didn't hate it

Charlotte, NC | 1 month ago

This product may be better suited for people with drier hair. I have thin, wavy, greasy hair and tried this as an alternative to seanik. The salt on top makes it hard to use the bar and ends up just running down the drain. My hair gets greasy way faster with this than with seanik. If I shower before bed, I can see grease by the next morning. I am pairing with 'big' conditioner bar.

Great shampoo

I stopped voting my hair almost 2 years ago and my new silver hair has a tendency to stick up and be a little wild! This shampoo bar made my hair squeaky clean and tamed those pesky fly ways! I gave it 4 stars because I recently added some purple for fun and it seems to be washing the purple out faster than my old shampoo. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This shampoo bar smells great, works well but BEWARE THE SALT. I cut open my palm using this bar because of that silly salt! Ouch.
