Buchu is used as a cleansing, toning and stimulating ingredient and is known for its sharp scent.
A small evergreen shrub, native to South Africa. The oil is extracted by steam distillation from its small, 1 cm-long leaves. The shrub bears small, white, star-like flowers. The oil is dark yellow to brown and has a strong blackcurrant and minty scent.
