Hibiscus sabdariffa is an annual herb with a woody lower stem and long narrow leaves, thought to be native to India, Indonesia, Malaysia and West Africa. The fruit's shaped seeds are harvested by hand in the fall and used to produce hibiscus extract and infusion.
