Every time you buy our Charity Pot Body Lotion, you’re giving back.
In 2007, we wanted to spread some good and raise money for grassroots groups that needed it most, so we created our Charity Pot Body Lotion. It’s been so successful that even today, it’s still going strong. To date, we’ve donated more than $27,000,000 to over 1800 charities and groups around the world—and it’s all thanks to people like you!
Charity Pot Body Lotion
With a delicate, floral perfume, this beautiful moisturizer is made from a blend of ylang ylang and rosewood oils in a hydrating cocoa butter base. It’s perfect for all your dry bits and will leave skin subtly perfumed and touchably soft.
So, how does my purchase help?
It’s easy, really. When you buy a pot of Charity Pot, you get a beautiful lotion and we give 100 percent of the sale price (minus the tax), which goes into a fund, and then we select grassroots groups that work in the areas of animal protections, environmental justice and human rights who’ve applied for funding. Once selected, they become one of our Charity Pot partners! Check out the lid on our Charity Pot Body Lotion to get to know some of our partners.
Who can be a partner?
Our Charity Pot funding goes to small, grassroots groups in North America and around the world that work on the root cause of issues and create long-term, sustainable change. They can be registered and un-registered charities, non-for-profits, community and indigenious organizations with an annual revenue of $500,000 or less. See the full list of our guidelines and learn how to apply or nominate an organization for funding.
The Sustainable Lush Fund
In 2010, we wanted to go beyond fair trade and organic. We wanted to develop more supportive relationships by working directly with the communities where we source our raw materials. To do this, we created the Sustainable Lush Fund: an initiative that allows us to invest two percent of the amount we spend on raw materials and packaging, and put that towards supporting communities to become more resilient.
The Sustainable Lush Fund is partly based on the main principles of permaculture: a natural design system that enriches local ecosystems and offers viable alternatives to standard industrial agriculture. The millions of Sustainable Lush Fund dollars spent to date have helped support the development of more than 44 projects in 21 countries, and you’ll find six of those ingredients in our Charity Pot Body Lotion: ylang-ylang oil, moringa oil, geranium oil, fresh aloe, shea butter and fair trade organic cocoa butter.
Our goal with the fund is to ensure that our purchasing dollars are used to support partners and communities that are producing the materials we need in ways that protect eco-systems, increase food security, and support robust and independent producers.
