Lush How It’s Made: The Birth Of Venus Jelly Face Mask

Have you met our new jelly face masks? These wobbly creations have a luxurious whipped texture made from softening glycerin and carrageenan, and they don’t need to be kept in the fridge—bonus! Join Dan as we go behind the scenes to see how The Birth Of Venus Jelly Face Mask is made. First, a soothing rose petal infusion is mixed with mineral-rich sea water. A super hydrating blend of glycerin, carrageenan (a fancy way of saying ground up seaweed), and vegetable-based monopropylene glycol create this mask’s jelly texture and softening effects. Deep-cleansing talc and kaolin clays get mixed in, then comes our cosmetic-grade color to give The Birth Of Venus its dreamy blue hue. Soothing chamomile and lavender essential oils calm irritated or sensitive skin, and give this mask a super serene scent too. Once the mix is cool enough, it gets potted in our 100 percent recycled plastic pots, and is sent fresh to stores and mailboxes all over North America. Get ready for this jelly!
